Chapter Officers

Chapter Officers

Frances Andrews

As President, I act as the main authority figure in the chapter by delegating to the rest of the Chapter Council, while still remaining present in each committee. I hold meetings on a weekly basis to keep the chapter constantly involved and updated on our obligations and activities. I also act as the primary liaison between Kappa's National Headquarters and our chapter.

Vice President-Organization

As VPO, I oversee the coordination of chapter events and the creation of a well-balanced chapter master calendar. I am also responsible for planning leadership development and officer training. Lastly, I strive to promote chapter involvement by creating committees that support our officer positions and participate in monthly committee nights.

Vice President-Standards

As Vice President of Standards, my committee and I are responsible for the maintenance of Fraternity standards and policies including educating the chapter about the role of the Standards Committee as well as addressing violations of Fraternity Bylaws, Standing Rules and Policies for the best interest of the individual and the chapter. My committee and I do all of this in order to promote unity and sisterhood. We strive to serve as role models for Epsilon Rho by representing the values of the chapter and the Fraternity to the campus and community.

Vice President-Academics

My job is to ensure that our chapter is upholding our academic values and goals. I work with members to achieve their highest possible GPA, and hold everyone accountable. Kappa is such a wonderful academic resource, and I get to make sure that everyone realizes it.

As treasurer, I handle the chapter’s finances. This includes billing members, tracking expenses, and maintaining the budget. Throughout the year, I work to inform members where their dues are spent and continually look to improve the efficiency of our spending.

Recording Secretary

As Recording Secretary, it is my job to take roll at every meeting/event, as well as record the minutes during our chapter meetings. I then send the minutes to our advisors so they can approve the minutes and be informed of Epsilon Rho's activities. In addition, I make a "Kappa Kalls" list of everyone's name and number to distribute to the chapter, and I also coordinate the revision of chapter Bylaws and Standing Rules.

Madeline T.

Corresponding Secretary

I write thank you notes to speakers, hosts, contributors, and other sororities in order to stay connected to the people involved with our chapter. I also order the pledge pins and badges for the incoming pledge class - which are great keepsakes that show how proud we are to be Kappas!

Madeline B.

As registrar, I’m the historian for the Epsilon Rho chapter. My responsibilities include maintaining Key Reports, which is the roster of all members in our chapter, and the chapter’s archives. Also, I am in charge of the chapter’s composite photos and creating a scrapbook of the year.

As Marshal, I am in charge of teaching and maintaining ritual practices, planning Initiation and Fireside, and leading Ritual Reviews. I also host the Inspiration-week event leading up to Initiation. Throughout the semester, I greet the guests who come to our chapter meetings.

As Education Chairman, I promote self-growth among our members through programming events including guest-speakers, career development sessions and networking events. I also maintains the chapter's education on Kappa Kappa Gamma's history and leads our Founder's Day celebration each year.

As House Chairman, I serve as a liaison between the house board and the residents of Kappa. I assist our house mom in ensuring that all safety regulations are met. Lastly, I help prepare the space for weekly meetings and other events that take place at Kappa.

New Member

I plan bid day, run the weekly new member meetings, and organize big little reveal, as well as the new member retreat! I am so excited to work with the new members of our chapter and make sure that they feel welcomed and have an easy transition into the chapter.

As Membership Chairman, I plan and coordinate all activities related to the mutual selection process, called Membership Recruitment. This position ensures that the chapter recruits and pledges high-quality women, achieves quota, pledges to Panhellenic total each year and follows NPC Unanimous Agreements and Guidelines.

Panhellenic Delegate

Panhellenic is all about creating a community and relationships with all the sororities. I attend panhellenic meetings and serve as a liaison between the chapter and panhellenic community. I help keep the chapter updated on panhellenic and other sorority events.

Philanthropy Fundraising

As Philanthropy Fundraising chair, I plan the events that allow us to provide support to our local and national philanthropies. I help to put on our two major events, Kappa Kookout in the spring, and Kappa Kolor Run in the fall. These fundraising events allow us to support The Nehemiah Center of Navasota, and The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.

Philanthropy Service

I put on Kappa's Reading Is Fundament (RIF) event and organize a group of girls to visit the Nehemiah Center of Navasota each day to mentor, tutor, and play with the kids at Nehemiah. I also organize Kappa's involvement with Texas A&M's Big Event and other philanthropy service projects.

Public Relations

As Public Relations Chairman, it is my job to be sure to keep our chapter's image in the best light in every aspect. I monitor and update our website and social media with the help of my committee. I also plan Kappa's Parent's Weekend, Mom's Weekend, Dad's Weekend and Parent's Tailgate. At the end of the year, I compose our chapter's newsletter, which is sent out in order to keep everyone updated on our chapter's accomplishments.

Risk Management

As Risk Management Chairman, I ensure the safety of all Kappa events by arranging security and when necessary, transportation to and from a Kappa event. In addition, I am in charge of educating the chapter about limiting risk.

Mary Rose

As the Events Chairman, I plan and schedule six different events throughout the year. We have three events a semester; two are formal events and the other four are themed date parties!
